Glues and Grout
At Mosaica, we now have 2 new glues/adhesives and a new range of grout. These products are made in Italy and are what the  professionals use in the tiling industry.  The feedback so far  has been great.  One of the adhesives is a ready mixed, lovely creamy paste and is suitable for both inside and outside use on all surfaces - wood, concrete, tiles, cement board. The other adhesive is a powder that is easy to mix.  It is for use on all those great projects that will hold water – birdbaths, ponds,  water features and the like.  The grout is also creamy and easy to use.  It has very little dust when mixing and dries quickly, which makes the whole grouting process a lot faster.

Ceramic Inserts
A great new range of handmade ceramic inserts that come from the South Island.  Geckos, Kiwis, Pukekos, Frangipanis, Lilies, Korus in blues, greens and vibrant colours.  These add a great point of interest in any mosaic work.

Concrete Items
Another new addition to our selection at Mosaica, is a range of concrete shapes to mosaic on.

These include   ....

Concrete Balls in a range of sizes - a great feature in any garden space.

Koru plate - something a little different that holds water - a sort of shallow water dish to enhance your garden.  Could act as a small birdbath.

Website
Speaking of our new website - have you checked it out yet ??  If not, why not take a look at it now - www.mosaica.co.nz.  The  feedback we have had so far has been very positive and we think it  looks pretty good too.  What do you think ??  We’d love to hear some feedback !!

We are currently working on the on-line shop and so please check back from time to time to see how we are getting on.

Mosaica Shop
If you haven't popped in yet to say hello, then how about it?  Now that Winter time is here, it is a good time to get some mosaic projects underway and what better than to come into our bright, inspiring, creative shop to pick up some supplies and ideas.  Remember, we're here to help you with any questions, the selection of your materials and of course ....to help you "piece together your creativity ..."

To those of you who have already visited us at Mosaica, it has been great to meet you and hear about the projects that you are working on.  And if you haven't yet had a chance to call in, then how about a visit - we'd love to meet you.

And here's a useful tip  ...

When gluing on our tesserae, we take a small amount of our adhesive out of the container and put in onto an old plastic lid - an ice cream container lid is ideal - and then shut the lid of our adhesive container.  When we have used up the small amount that we have placed on our lid, we then get some more out.  The benefit of this is that it keeps our adhesive airtight, which makes it last longer and you are not putting all the little dried up bits that we scrape out from between our tiles back into our container.  The edge of the ice cream container makes a good rubbish collector for all the dried up bits. Ever got distracted from your mosaic work and gone away to do something else, only coming back to find the lid has been left off your container all that time ??  Well, this could be the solution !  Why not give it a try ??

Well, there is plenty to keep us busy right now and so we'd like to leave you with this thought -

Learn to  -   love your art ...

and ... live your art ...

and ... see the world go by,

as colour, texture, line and form

and with an 'artist's eye'.

Until next time ... happy mosaicing ...

and why not call into MOSAICA some time soon -

you'll be surprised  what you might find !!

Happy mosaicing ...
