We've been busy beavering away at Mosaica over the Winter months.  We hope that those of you who are already addicted to mosaics have been busy too.  For those of you who have just started, Summer is a great time to work on all those mosaic projects for the garden.  And, for those of you who haven't yet discovered this addictive but extremely satisfying artform, there is no time like the present to get into mosaics.  How about starting with a class ?? At Mosaica, we have an Introduction to Mosaics class that is very popular - see what our students have to say about the classes.  In our studio at Mosaica, we offer weekday classes, evening classes and also Saturday morning classes.

So what's new at Mosaica, we hear you ask?

Website
We have upgraded our website and have lots more on it that we hope will inspire you.  If you haven't looked around it, then please take some time to do so.  If you haven't checked out the Gallery page on our website for a while, then why not take a look now - Gallery.  We are adding pictures to it regularly and hope that you will find some inspiration for your own mosaic projects.

Books
We have some great new books in stock to inspire you -

Mirrors
We have a lovely range of small mirrors suitable for indoor projects.  Made of MDF, they are great for a quick project - perhaps for a gift for someone - or perhaps a project for a child who is keen to make their first mosaic masterpiece.

Remember, we custom make mirrors to order so that that they will suit that special place in your home, be it bathroom, bedroom, lounge, hallway or wherever.   We have made several up for customers in a range of sizes to suit their wall space.  So if you are feeling inclined to mosaic a mirror, just let us know what size mirror base you require and we'll make it up for you.

Concrete Hearts
We have just received our first delivery of our new concrete hearts and they are proving very popular.  We have designed a new mould and had it professionally made, which has enabled us to produce hearts with a lovely smooth surface and the results speak for themselves.  They are just a joy to mosaic onto. They are available in 3 sizes - small 11cm, medium 13cm and large 18cm.  Great to mosaic onto with china or glass, particularly if you have some old china that is of sentimental value - what a great way to use keep it by transforming it into an everlasting mosaic.  These concrete hearts are just perfect for gifts also.

Children's Mosaic Parties

These are proving very popular and something unique for a party activity.  Take a look at the Party page and see the results.  Everyone who comes to a party at Mosaica, leaves with their very own mosaic masterpiece to take home and put on their wall.  Hearts, Flowers, Handbags - they are all popular.  The children have such a great time and it is a delight to see them concentrating so hard, chatting away and being creative.

There is a courtyard outside the shop and so the whole party can be held at Mosaica.  We set it all up and clean it all up - what could be easier !!

Classes

Now that Spring has sprung, we have started our evening classes again.  What a great way to end the day - leave your daily routine behind and indulge yourself in some much needed time out.  On the Gallery page, you will see the results.

So, how about joining a class - in fact, bring a friend or two and make it a weekly catch up with them while you all learn a new skill.  Classes are starting all the time, so just contact us  for days and times.

Christmas

Now here's an idea for Christmas - why not make a mosaic wreath for your front door.  We have made this one using recycled green glass which comes in a variety of shapes, sizes and shades of green.  Already cut into random pieces and the edges are smooth so safe for children to use - perhaps they could help you make one !  Just add a splash of red for the holly - some  red glass beads or red mirror glass -and, when it's finished, attach a piece of Christmas ribbon for that final touch.  Pop a hook on the back and it's already to adorn your front door for the Christmas season.  How's that for a pre-Christmas project !
